A key focus for us at Dubbo Family Dentists is to make your child’s visit to the dentist an enjoyable experience. We have a dedicated kids corner in our patient lounge with fun activities.
Once you and your child enter the treatment room, Dr Amjad and Dr Antonia will thoroughly examine your child’s teeth, mouth and occlusion and discuss any concerns. They will also go through home care and diet with you and your child.
The ideal time to start visiting the dentist is from the age of 3. At this early age, it is often just a ride in the chair with a quick look around. As they get older and more familiar we can begin to take photos and x-rays of their teeth, provide cleans and also undertake preventative fissure seals in the molar teeth. We can also assess your child’s bite and where appropriate intervene early if your child has some orthodontic needs, which can reduce the amount of time they wear braces for.
If your child is playing sport, it is worth considering a new mouthguard every 12 months or when the old one is no longer fitting comfortably.
