Almost all major dental problems, such as dental caries, abscesses and gum disease, can be prevented and usually start off asymptomatically. Dental problems can even develop very quietly and can easily go unnoticed until there is an emergency. At Dubbo Family Dentists, we are avid believers that prevention is by far better than cure. Treating your teeth only when there is an emergency can mean the treatment required is more expensive and more extensive – such as Root Canal Therapy, Crowns or Extraction.
That is why we encourage you to have your teeth checked every 6 months. During your check-ups, Dr Amjad and Dr Antonia may take photos of your mouth and take x-rays if you are due. They will thoroughly clean your teeth and may also apply fluoride. We have become preferred providers with BUPA, HCF, Medibank Private and CBHS to make regular check-ups for you and your family more accessible and affordable.
Any problems that may arise from your check-up, Dr Amjad and Dr Antonia will be sure to explain the diagnosis and treatment needed in easy-to-understand language. They will also guide you to how to best care for your teeth at home so you can also be involved in the prevention of oral disease.
